The conference "Banking and the State", jointly organized by the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE and the Institute for Banking and Financial History (IBF), was virtually held on November 9, 2021.
The topics of the chosen papers include Public Banking Activities before 1945: Functions and Effects, State-owned Banks and Development Banking in the Aftermath of the Second World War, and Stabilizing and Crowding Out Effects of Public Banks.
